Tagalog Commentary on the Gospel of Mark

After 9 months of translation (that is, from January 6 to September 2025), I was able to produce a Tagalog translation of Dr. Constable’s commentary on Mark (382 pages). It was a challenging experience but a lasting fruit for the Filipino Body of Christ. It was my first time to translate such a lenghty and scholarly material, but at the same time it was very enjoyable because I’ve been given the freedom to apply my ‘dynamic and contextualized’ way of translation, a ‘faithful translation.’ I also think that it is the first translated Tagalog commentary on the Gospel of Mark; that is, not AI translated but a thoroughly human and pastoral translation. Thus, the product translation has a soul (dynamic, sensitive, personal, conversational, and cultural). A Filipino reader of that commentary will feel the personal touch of the translator, who is a pastor. However, it needs proofreading to further furnish the transition in the translation and even to feel and fill in the right words in the flow of words, which will only happen (in my experience) when you read the material in a conversational or sermonic way. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to proofread it because of the deadline, and it’s not included in the budget.
