Tagalog Commentaries on Galatians and Titus

During my vacation in Mindanao, my proposal to Tom Constable (a Bible commentator) was granted. He approved my proposal to translate into Filipino two of his New Testament commentaries—the letters of Paul to the ‘Galatians’ and to ‘Titus.’ I really enjoyed it. It’s a blessed translation journey!!!

I have 2 main reasons why I proposed to translate his commentaries on these two NT epistles. First is because of the religious situation of Filipinos under the popular doctrine of Roman Catholicism. Moreover, legalism is rampant not only in non-evangelical sects but also in evangelical churches. Second, the letter of St. Paul to Titus will help many pastors to lead their churches according to what really matters. The translation of this commentary will enlighten Filipino church leaders to lead with effectiveness in a Pauline way. Titus is particularly beneficial to pastors who are in the cities, particularly those who live in the NCR. Why? If they read Titus as I do, they can relate.

I think more available Tagalog translations for these two epistles from a scholarly, pastoral, and layman’s level will tremendously benefit the Body of Christ in the Philippines. For me, I particularly love the epistles to the Galatians or Romans—the very epistles that set ablaze the passionate heart of Martin Luther.

Contact me if you are interested in supporting this ministry focus and if you know of resource material for Galatians and Titus that you want me to translate into Tagalog.
